What is special about the Willi Schulz farm?

“We are a diverse family business in the easternmost district of Lower Saxony. Together with my wife, I manage my parents’ farm, which has been around for several generations. The sandy soils and small structures present us with particular challenges. Our aim is to fulfil the highest quality requirements for our products in a way that conserves resources and is close to nature.“

What does insect protection mean for the Willi Schulz farm?

“Insect conservation on our farm means practising sustainable agriculture and preserving natural resources. This includes the protection and preservation of insects as an important part of the ecosystem. We are actively committed to promoting the balance between pests and beneficial insects. By promoting biodiversity and creating habitats for insects, our farm helps to maintain a healthy and stable ecosystem that enables sustainable food production in the long term.“

What insect protection measures is the Willi Schulz farm planning or already implementing?

“Our farm implements various measures to protect insects, such as wide rows in cereals, beneficial insect strips in various crops (especially parsley), the planting of individual trees and the preservation of deadwood trees, insect hotels and extensive grassland use. These measures create habitats and food sources for insects, promote biodiversity and contribute to the protection and promotion of insect populations.“
